Outstandingly friendly and helpful staff. Pretty paintings in the rooms consisting of all the amenities you anticipate from an accommodation in this range. The free bicycles are a real benefit but be aware of the dodgy breaks - don't speed up too much! The breakfast is a delicious self serving buffet with super tasty, traditional Thai dishes.

I stayed twice at Pen Ta Hug as a solo traveller for one night each. The staff are lovely and the place is very good value for money, with spacious, clean rooms and a warm breakfast (just be prepared for few vegetarian options – I managed). It is in a quiet area and close to a 7-11 and Lotus’s. Can definitely recommend for short stays, and imagine it could be a good base for a couple if you either have a car or are happy to take long walks or taxis, depending on what brings you to Ubon.
Reasonable price, nice location, plenty of parking lots, breakfast is buffet and all are included in the room price. Caution!! No elevator, I stayed on the 3rd floor and found a bit difficult climbing up there.
Good staff, well maintained establishment. Breakfast was provided by a gentle " how can I help you". More than enough variety for most anyone. Safe location, although saying that Thailand as a whole is very safe place. Irate it overall quite good.
